Mariposa 2027: a summer weekend across the Narrows
Orillia's folk festival has set its 2027 dates. For anyone thinking about a room, the useful facts are the dates, the distance and the age rules at the resort.

The dates
The Mariposa Folk Festival lists 9 to 11 July 2027, with tickets already on sale. The 2026 edition ran on 3 to 5 July. Secondary listings place the festival in Tudhope Park in Orillia; check the festival's own site for the site map and the final line-up.
Why stay at Rama
The resort is on the other side of the Atherley Narrows, about 15 minutes by car from downtown Orillia by our calculation. It has 292 suites and free parking — two things that matter on a weekend when the town fills up. The saltwater pool and the morning spa are a fair answer to three days in a field in July.
What to know
- Children are welcome in the hotel, MATCH, ATLAS and The Weirs, but not on the gaming floor, at the buffet, at Chow or at shows that are not advertised as all ages.
- Check-in is after 4 PM, check-out at 11 AM. For a Friday arrival with a festival evening, plan to check in first.
- Your own alcohol, sealed from the LCBO, can only be consumed in your room.
- The resort's cancellation deadline is 4 PM the day before arrival; special-offer and package rates are non-refundable. Over a festival weekend, think about which rate you take.
Booking early
Summer weekends in Lake Country are busy without a festival. If you want a room for 9 to 11 July 2027, you can send a request now; we will tell you when the resort opens those dates and what it offers.

Ask our desk to hold a room for your show night
Tell us the night, the show if there is one, and how many of you are coming. We check what the resort can offer for those dates and write back with options. No card is needed to ask.
How we are paid: if a room request you send here becomes a confirmed stay, the resort or the booking partner that completes it pays us a commission. Asking costs you nothing and never raises the rate.
